Open Chords I

Here we have 8 of the most common chords you'll play on guitar. These are known as open shapes, because they all have open strings being played within them.

This also has the benefit of making them comparatively easy to perform.

Get comfortable making all these shapes on command, and associating them with their name.

Ensure you have a clear sound and that every string that should be ringing, is!

Once that's done, start practicing switching between two shapes. Look for 2 chords that you have difficulty switching between, and focus your efforts on that transition.

Having these 8 chords ready on command is a fundamental aspect of guitar playing and must not be overlooked!
