Here is one way to play the Minor Scale, starting and ending on a root note. We do have to change position when playing the G string for this scale, but for all other strings we remain in the same position.
This scale has often been described as the sadder-sounding counterpart to the Major Scale.
In essence, it is the Major Scale with the 3rd, 6th, and 7th notes flattened.
