Hotel California
The Eagles
Here we have the first repetition of the chords of Hotel California.Â
There's a use of a V7 in the Minor Key here, and a great example of what might be called a "Chromatic Passing Chord" in Bar 4.
The Diminished Triad used there isn't Diatonic to the Key, but it sits between two uncomplicated Diatonic Major Chords, and creates a pattern of downward half-steps in the bassline as we move from A, to G#, to G.
Note the "Capo fret 7" instruction, but if you don't have a capo, feel free to learn this in open position!
